Geographic postponement

Geographic (or time, or logistics) postponement refers to a situation, where a fully stocked anticipatory inventory is maintained at one or a few strategic locations. When customer orders are received, the orders are delivered directly to the customer, for example, from strategic warehousing locations.[1]
